ISEPEI 2022: Summer School "Geotechnologies in Food Security" Concludes in Budapest

Last week, newly established OSUN’s GeoHub, a joint initiative by Syslab's ISEPEI project, American University of Central Asia (AUCA), and Bard College successfully completed the in-person Summer University course on "Geospatial Technologies for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - Food Security" in CEU’s Budapest campus.

After two years of wait, CEU’s Summer University face-to-face course on "Geospatial Technologies for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - Food Security" is all set to kick off on July 25th, 2022 in Budapest! This year the course offers a dynamic set of exciting lectures which will wrap up on July 29th.

Jessica Jewell, who completed an MS (2009) and PhD (2013) at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy has been elected to the Young Academy of Sweden.

CEU Interdepartmental Dialogues on Climate Change at the World Wide Teach-In on Climate solutions and Climate Justice event

Central European University, Vienna successfully completed World Wide Teach-In on Climate solutions and Climate Justice on 31st March last month. The event was a part of Open Society University Network’s collaboration with Center for Environmental Policy, Bard College, USA for their Solve Climate 2030 project. 4 master’s students from the Environmental Sciences department of CEU participated in planning and organizing the event with advisor Dora Almassy.

Dr. Chatterjee's lecture at the World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center's TDD on Low Carbon Cities flagship program

Dr. Souran Chatterjee was invited to deliver a keynote framing lecture by the World Bank, in their World Bank Technical Deep Dive (TDD) on Low Carbon Cities programme. His lecture was focused on how cities can tackle climate change, pandemic and economic crisis.

Winners of the Collaborating for Rural Sustainability (CORUSUS) internship call were announced

The OSUN CORUSUS project is strengthening teaching, learning and research by cultivating cooperation to address the sustainability of rural livelihoods in South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, and Lebanon, whilst bolstering the sharing of knowledge and experience between faculty and students of partner institutions. It aims to facilitate student exchange to promote inter-disciplinary and cross-contextual co-learning including targeted internship funding for CEU’s MESPOM program.
