Environmental and Energy Studies

Designed to combine theory and methods with practical exercises and a field excursion to witness adaptation issues in person, this summer school will provide participants with a unique opportunity to work together on solving a specified climate-related challenge with leading scientific experts and local stakeholders applying methodologies and models developed within IMPRESSIONS. The summer school focuses in particular on how inter- and transdisciplinary research methods combine to develop practical climate solutions.

Environmental problems are interdisciplinary & so are their solutions. Join us at Nador 15, 1st Floor on 15th December, 9AM onwards to explore and engage with some of these solutions. There will be presentations on more than 50 topics - from 'Challenges of Shark Conservation' and 'Consequences of mass tourism' to 'Anti-Food Waste Movements' and 'Environmental impacts of illicit cannabis cultivation in national parks'. Each presentation will be followed by a discussion!

Armen Asryan will talk about the Geospatial Crowdsourcing for Environmental and DRR sectors from a practitioner’s perspective touching upon several key issues including the key concepts and frameworks behind the topic, review of practical implementations in Armenia, lessons learned and the challenges that affected the crowdsourcing project design and management.
