Prof. Pintér and PhD candidate Attila Katona visit eco-city Tianjin in China

Professor László Pintér and PhD Candidate Attila Katona visited China's most advanced eco-city (still under construction) to establish research cooperation with the directors of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, the School of Architecture at Tianjin University, the Green Building Research Institute, and the China-Europe Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Park, among others.

Tianjin is one of the external case studies CEU is responsible for in the EU-funded NATURVATION Project and also serves as one of the cases in Attila’s PhD research project.

Denise Matias successfully defends her PhD

Denise Matias (Masters program class of 2012) successfully defended her PhD at the University of Bonn. Her topic was sustainability of forestry enterprises, focusing on indigenous wild honey gathering in a biosphere reserve on the island of Palawan, Philippines. Denise says: "My master's studies at CEU's Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy provided me with a very good foundation on the topic of sustainability, introducing not only the latest research but also the pioneering work of early systems thinkers.

PhD candidate, Natalia Pervushina, teaching at the University of Yangon

Natalia Pervushina, a PhD candidate and CEU Global Teaching Fellow, will be teaching at the University of Yangon in Myanmar from December 2017 until March 2018. Natalia is the second CEU Global Teaching Fellow of the Environmental Sciences Department.
