Professor Pintér receives a Balaton Group Endeavor Program grant for comparative research on urban NBS in China and Europe

On April 4, 2024 the Project Committee of The Balaton Group announced its decision to support a joint proposal by Prof. Pintér and Prof. Linjun Xie at the University of Notthingham - Ningbo to the Balaton Group Endeavour Program, designed to support ground-breaking collaborative research of members.

In a "Your Questions Answered" segment, BBC World News featured Diana Urge-Vorsatz, Professor in CEU's Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy, discussing the news that for the first time on record, global warming has exceeded 1.5 degrees Celsius over a 12-month period. She is Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

László Pintér Delivers Keynote for United Nations Environment Programme’s Global Environmental Outlook Meeting

On January 15, László Pintér, Professor in CEU’s Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy, delivered the keynote address to the authors of the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Seventh Global Environmental Outlook (GEO-7) in Vienna. The Global Environmental Outlook (GEO) is the UNEP’s flagship periodic assessment of the state and direction of the global environment.
