ESZTER MATYAS graduated from Political Science at Central European University and Eotvos Lorand University (ELTE) where she was mainly researching the field of environmental politics. She is a PhD candidate in environmental sciences at Central European University and writing her PhD research on nuclear energy legitimacy. She was a junior research fellow at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Center of Excellence, Institute for Political Science, Department of Government and Public Policy. She is a member of Nuclear Transparency Watch and the Civil Society Program of EURAD. She is a Global Teaching Fellow at Arizona State University for the 2023/24 academic year,leading the courses SGS 330 Globalization and the Environment: Problems and Solutions and POS 494 Democratic Erosion. With support from the Melikian Center's Title VI award, she will be the first Global Teaching Fellow in residence for a full academic year. Eszter founded and serves as editor of Erőmű (Power Plant) the environmental radio show at Tilos Radio Hungary.
