Chunyu Liang, CEU ’07, Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy

October 2, 2012

Armed with a CEU MSc in environmental science, policy and management, Chunyu Liang is battling climate change through the U.N.’s global greenhouse gas emissions mitigation effort. A native of China, Liang came to CEU in 2005 on a scholarship from Erasmus Mundus—a European Commission program aimed at linking Europe with other parts of the world. He credits CEU’s program with preparing him for his current position as a program officer for the group responsible for clean projects in developing countries that reduce notoriously dangerous HFC (hydrofluorocarbon) 23 and N2O (nitrous oxide) emissions. In 2009, Liang was elected president of the global Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association. “I really see the value of staying connected,” he says, “of learning from and being inspired by each others’ experiences.” Photo by CEU/Nils Ericson - See more at: http://www.ceu.hu/article/2012-10-02/chunyu-liang-ceu-07-department-envi...
