Part II: April 20, 2:15-4:15 p.m.  Auditorium

The CEU Environmental and Social Justice Action Research Group (ACT JUST) invites you to a two-part Earth Day series on global movements for environmental and social justice. The events will bring together the voices of researchers and activists to jointly analyze the recent wave of social mobilizations. They will explore to what extent  these movements transcend dichotomous categorization: local/global, rural/urban, environmental/social, theory/practice, etc.

And, what, if anything, is truly innovative about these movements in terms of their structure, strategies, discourse, etc.?

Panelists will share case studies from around the world using photos, video clips, stories, and quotes from the field.  We will conclude by inviting the audience to share their own experiences and insights to shed light on this incredible time for global social movements.
