Professor Laszlo Pinter provided input to the development of the UNEP Post-2015 Discussion Paper 1 "Embedding the Environment in Sustainable Development Goals".

One of the principal outcomes of the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development held in 2012 was a call to produce a set of universally applicable sustainable development goals (SDGs) that balance the environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainable development. There is currently discussion around the globe about how these SDGs might be formed. This paper provides advice and guidance on how environmental sustainability can be incorporated into the SDGs.
