PhD graduate, Ksenia Petrichenko, has recently joined Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency

March 3, 2015

Since August 2014 Ksenia has been working as a Researcher at Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2) at UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP).

Established in September 2013 as a joint activity of the Danish Government, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2) is dedicated to accelerating the uptake of energy efficiency policies and programmes at a global scale. C2E2 is institutionally part of the UNEP DTU Partnership – a UNEP collaborating centre operating under a tripartite agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNEP and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and with over 20 years of leading international research and advisory work on climate, energy and sustainable development. In the context of the United Nations Secretary General’s Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative, C2E2 is the thematic hub for energy efficiency; with the prime responsibility to support action towards the SE4ALL energy efficiency target of doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency by 2030.

Ksenia’s role is to provide technical assistance on energy efficiency to developing countries and emerging economies under the  SE4ALL objective to double the global rate of energy efficiency improvement by 2030.  Her work  includes analysis of best-practices and tools related to energy efficiency with the primary focus on the building sector. She is also coordinating the modeling work on technological and policy pathways towards the SE4ALL objective on energy efficiency and serves the role of a focal point for Building Efficiency Accelerator. It is a global network of businesses, NGOs and international organizations, led by World Resource Institute and Johnsons Control, with the aim to accelerate actions on building energy efficiency through collaboration with civil society and sub-national governments (see more: http://www.se4all.org/energyefficiencyplatform/building-efficiency/)
