Prof. Brandon Anthony, Alina Szabo (PhD candidate), and Lusine Margaryan (ESP 2006-2007; currently PhD student at Mid Sweden University), all took part in Europe's 1st Workshop on Integrating Human Dimensions into Fish & Wildlife Management. On 26-27 February 2013, over 60 experts convened in Umea, Sweden to lay the groundwork for establishing a network of Human Dimension researchers from different research environments in Europe, define what the concept Human Dimensions of Wildlife is in a European context, and establish a European research platform in order to be able to apply for research funding within the framework of EU-funding. The department's research on human-wildlife conflict in South Africa, Romania, and France was highlighted at the workshop.
