Year of Enrollment:

My PhD work is an attempt to contribute to understanding of complex urban system resilience to various catastrophes and crises that attack critical infrastructure and services.

I study how availability and accessibility of facilities affect resilience of communities during floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, industrial accidents, and terrorist acts. To assess resilience, I use methods of geographic information systems and network science.

I worked at the New Economic School, Centre for European Policy Studies, Food and Agriculture Organization, Central European University, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, and United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.
