My research interests include the study of animal welfare ethics, policies and practices, the analysis of animal welfare science in the light of agricultural sustainability and species conservation efforts, and the examiation of how animal welfare problems are conceptualized by different interest groups.

Prior to CEU I have worked for major national and international animal welfare groups, have lobbied national and EU decision makers, and have campaigned for higher animal welfare standards in the following areas: wild and exotic species of animals kept in zoos and aquaria, circuses and as pets, intensively reared farm animals, and animals listed under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

I currently serve as member of the (Hungarian) Minister of Agriculture's Animal Welfare Advisory Committee.
