John Szabó is a PhD candidate at the Central European University's Environmental Sciences and Policy Department. His research focuses on how corporate power exerted by natural gas corporations can alter the pace and trajectory of Europe's energy transition to renewables. Leading up to his PhD, John has been involved with various stakeholders of the energy industry, ranging from energy diplomacy, through public utilities, international oil corporations, and consultancy. He has looked to attain a multi-faceted understanding of the sector, before engaging in further academic research.
