Survey Research Methods

Course Description: 

This course offers a review of some of the major theoretical and empirical issues associated with survey research methodology (including questionnaire design and scientific sampling), and prepares students in the fundamental skill areas necessary to design and conduct survey research projects.

Learning Outcomes: 

This course prepares students in the fundamental skill areas necessary to design, conduct and analyze survey research projects.

Assessment: 

Students will have one major assignment, which will be distributed in three separate parts. They will also be required to circulate this assignment to their peers, and provide feedback regarding its content, structure, etc. Finally, they will submit this assignment in its completed form at the end of the course.

The allocation of grading will be as follows:
Assignment 1a 30%
Assignment 1b 30%
Assignment 1c 30%
Class participation 10%

Prerequisites: 

Introduction to Quantitative Research Methods (or an introductory statistics course)
